LEBUHRAYA KEMUNING-SHAH ALAM
An accessible road infrastructure and traffic dispersal system is needed to be aligned with the vibrant economic and population growth in Shah Alam. Hence, LKSA came to its inception after 42 months of construction work. This 14.7km highway crosses over from KESAS in the south towards the Federal Highway Route 2 in the north. It is seen as an alternative route for road users as it helps reduce traffic congestion along the Federal Highway. With 6 interchanges, this 3-lane dual carriageway highway provides a high speed link to motorists. The 3-lane dual carriageway expressway is well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities while all three (3) of GCE’s open system toll plazas are located at Bukit Jelutong, Elmina and Lagong.
With efficient technology, LKSA would be able to reduce traffic volumes on local roads and junctions that are already congested by redirecting traffic away from the roads, helps to improve both traffic and performance at local junctions and helps to reduce congestions at these locations. LKSA also provides access and ease for traffic generated from the proposed developments in the area. Its open system toll plazas are strategically located at Alam Impian and Sri Muda. As a relatively new highway, LKSA has grown to become an important link for the communities and road users. PROLINTAS has implemented various strategies to continually develop the highway, and improve traffic flow and maintenance systems to meet their needs.
Constant and consistent maintenance of the highway is carried out to provide motorists with the best driving experience we can offer. Maintenance activities include inspections at various key areas such as the expansion of joints, piers, generator set, Automatic Lane Barrier (ALB), road conditions, street lighting as well as landscaping upkeep.
Most recently, all street lighting at LKSA has been converted to LED lighting making energy consumption more efficient with lower impact on the environment. It has also included a self-service kiosk for reload purposes as part of the Customer Service Centre services, in an effort to go cashless.

LKSA has received the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System, ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management System, ISO45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, and ISO39001:2012 Road Traffic Safety (RTS) Management System certifications.

Customer Service Centres for reloading and other transactions are open from 7am – 7pm on Mondays to Fridays, and 8am – 1pm on Saturdays. The centres close on Sundays and Public Holidays
